This is going to be Virtual Gameboy games. We will announce in our forums when we have the virtual Game Boy games online. Once again, the genious Jamie Sanders has struck again. He has opened up a whole new art for retro gaming. Online retro gaming...

Give me a list of games you would like to see in the new vGBX when we get it online. Then we will sticky a forum thread and I think we will combine the vnes and vgbx games into the same categories, so you can access it from one page.

VNES Programming Progress

Since the site was re programmed, we had a hell of a time trying to re do the code to get things online again.

I went into the vNES section located at http://erebusonyx.com/vnes/, and re coded all the categories, so they show up right. I fixed #-Z just now. I got the # category games working just for testing purposes, so that one is ready. Now I will be adding A-Z category games. There are over 100 games to re code, and this will take a while, but I will post in this thread, when they are up and running again.

I know old school games are not that popular, but one day I plan on adding VSNES or VSEGA if they ever find out how to make it.

Captcha Sucks!

I don't like Captcha, aka Image Verification, as much as the next person.

Unfortunately, I understand why websites have to have this type of annoying verification process on their websites. My website has been attacked more times than i can count, so I had to activate this type of anti spamming program.

A number of sites, including Myspace, Facebook, and Youtube, have spam guard protection to stop hackers and spammers from trying to ruin the hard work they have put into their site.

Here is an image I just uploaded, to set a few annoying Captcha problems straight...

If you wan't me to remove captcha from your profile, simply ask me, and I will take it off. This feature is not permanent on this website. I need to know you are human, before I open you up to submit stuff like a Troll. If you spam, I have to enable your captcha again, or ban you from the site. Its as easy as that...

Designing your profile and other help

I noticed a few members don't know how to use the interface, so I think I will have to make a tutorial on how to do some things on this site. If you have any questions or want me to make any other tutorials, let me know.

How to add a Background image in your profile - Click Profile -> Customize Profile -> Click Advanced in the "Profile Designer", then Click on the Clipmark icon to view the attatchments. A window will open up showing you "Uploads" and "Browse Archives". If you have already uploaded an image in the Upload section, go to "Browse Archives" and click the name above the image you wish to use, then click on "Use Image". If the final result is what you desire, click on save, then close the "Profile Designer" with the "close" link located in the upper right corner. I will attatch an image to this thread so you know what it looks like...

Getting our Virtual Nintendo online

Since we moved from one website to another, some things got a bit messed up, and also a main reason our Virtual Nintendo games are not here, is because we have re-designed the website, and need to re-do the coding for vnes games.

I don't plan on fixing one vnes game at a time, I plan on manually fixing the whole bulk of games at once. Although there is over 100 games in our collection, I am manually copying and re designing the code from our other website The Erebus Onyx was hosted on, so that the games work on this website.

The ROMS are still NOT being hosted on this site, but are mirrored from our game web links website and from another website hosting those Nintendo ROMS. We will never host ROMS, because we don't need any trouble from Nintendo at this time, just in case the copyright holder changes their mind after talking to us.

I plan on getting these games back online soon, but over 100 games is going to be a beotch. For those of you that are waiting for vnes to come back, I am truly sorry for this inconvenience, and for those that don't care, enjoy the rest of the site .

Dark Sector

When I first bought this game, I was thinking it was just about you getting some awesome powers of mutation from a virus. I thought later that you would mutate into this extremely powerfull monster that takes down whole armies of men, like in Prototype.

I will tell you right now, don't buy this game... The first few minuites of game play gets you infected with the virus, but the evolution is very slow, and the controlls are very not user friendly. The only cool part about this game is that you can use your six axis controller for PS3 to guide your glave into an enemies face or cut off their leggs.

During the first few hours of game play, you are still weak. Considering that a few gun shots can kill you, zombies can kill you in about 3 hits, and armored men with shields can kill you with 2 or 3 hits, plus you can't kill those armored men until you deflect their shield and shoot them 3 or more times. I HATE these SWAT style armored guys, because they come for you, and if you can't get them to open up for the kill shot, they clobber you to death with a pipe machetti.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE ZOMBIES, DON'T BUY THIS GAME. I am not much of a survival horror fan, so when I see something scary coming after me in a video game, I end up putting down my controller and putting the game back in its CD case and playing some other day, when I feel no fear. I like horror movies a lot, but if I am trying to avoid an angry mob of scary things, I just don't wanna play. Prototype is an exception, because the zombies are no match for your awesomeness.

Zombies in Dark Sector - They run after you, like in Left For Dead. They come out of cemetary graves, out from walls, holes, fishing docks, and pretty much anywhere you don't want to see zombies coming from. These zombies come running for you, and can kill you in 3 hits or less, with their shovels, pipes, and machetti blades. Plus if they get too close, they try to bite your face, and you gotta press a button to get them off. This by itself, makes me wanna stop playing, but I wan't to finish this game, so I continue.

I will update this review as I evolve and play the game further.

Warhammer Online

This game is pretty fun. I made a few characters and it is living up to the hype a bit. I played today, for example, a few hours, just to see how the game play is. If you compare it to wow as far as the PVP goes, they call it RVR (Realm vs Realm), and you can involve yourself in that, in the early levels before you get to level 10.

There is no zoning, like WOW, or instances. You just go into an area that is red stained on the map, and a counter counts down from 10 to 0 and then you are flagged for PVP. I played this for a bit holding off the enemy for 1 hour before they stormed us. That was really fun, so the first impression is going good.

I will keep playing this game and keep you guys posted.

A few reasons I don't like Final Fantasy 11 anymore

They never upgraded this game with new features. Finding a group is a chore and it is necessary if you are to advance in the game. They never decided to focus on casual players who have only an hour to play.

Final Fantasy 11 at the time of this post is being invaded with PM spam to go to scam sites. Leveling up in the game is a chore, and if you get killed you lose exp and even can de-level .

They finally added one thing in the game that we really don't care for. A treasure drops at the defeat of some enemies. If you are lucky, you get a temporary item that dissappears when you enter town. If you are un lucky, you get a chest that opens with a special code that you only get 5 tries to guess the code and then it dissappears, leaving you with a WTF moment because instead of leveling up, you just took some valuable time to mess with a code that waisted your time.

You can only get a mount when you are level 20 which takes waaaay to long. And this is if you don't have job ADD switching jobs back and forth to level each job up so you can see the special abilities.

I keep signing up, and then cancelling my account within a month. At the time of this post, all the game time I took to level up my Targus character to level 15 was at least a few days, casualy with family and toddler tugging at my shirt sleeves.

I bought a RROD Xbox 360

I paid a friend of mine at work $50 for his RROD Xbox 360. I did some research on Youtube, and I might be trying to fix this issue myself. I know I could just go to a Microsoft registered vendor and have them fix it for $30 or more, but I heard that you can remove the faulty Xclamp from inside the XBOX and re-solder the CPU/GPU with a heat gun, or by baking it.

DO NOT USE THE TOWEL TRICK! I heard the towel trick melts the plastic pieces in your XBOX plus it could catch on fire!... The baking I will be doing involves taking the Xbox 360 apart and only removing the cooling fan from the GPU. Then you prop up the XBOX with the cooling fan on the CPU so it does not shut down from overheating, while keeping it plugged into your TV connection. If it senses no TV connection, or if it senses an overheating CPU, it shuts down, and you want to bake the GPU for about 15 min to get the soldering to melt back into place. This will be a complicated task, but it will be worth it for $50.

I heard the RROD is mainly because the GPU overheats and flux in the mother board from the faulty Xclamp, makes the soldering break. They actually used lead free solder in the Xbox 360 because of state regulations for children safety. That was dumb, because this made the solder brittle, and when there is flux in the motherboard, it causes a hairline crack in the soldering after the GPU and CPU cools down.

I'll be making a Youtube video of this when I get the time.

Making Money on Squidoo

I have been doing some research on how you can make money on Squidoo. To be honest, you only get 50% of a pool of money that all lens masters put in, and you get a certain amount of that according to what lens rank any of your lenses on Squidoo gets.

So, if you have a tier 2 lens on squidoo, you get a tier 2 profit margin, and that profit will be less than a tier 1 lens. To take note on this, you only get 50% of the earnings that all lens masters put into a pool of earnings, from any given high ranking page lens they create.

At the time of this post, I have no lens that ranks high enough to makey any money what so ever. Even if someone visits a lens I made, and click on an ad, Squidoo will take this money and share it 50% with the high ranking lenses. I think thats funny... The ads on my site pay me per 1000 page views, and per click, with no odd affiliate monopoly. To be painfully honest, I think I am waisting my time on Squidoo. I guarantee that they are getting paid every 1000 visits to ads on their site, and every one is making them soooo much money, and even though squidoo takes 5% and gives that to charity, 45% goes to them, and 50% goes to you.... They are making a killing for ads revenue.

Imagine that you have a website. This website gets many page views and your ads pay for those, so this pays for page views and visitors click on ads, and you get paid for those as well.. You have members of your website, promoting products that have good search engine keywords, and they drive more traffic to your site. More visitors, more page views, more ad clicks, more money to you. If those members were helping you make money, would you not entice more visitors to join and make you money as well, by giving them some money? This, to me, sounds like a legal pyramid scheme. The lowest pages make no money, the higher ranked pages get more income, and the top of the pyramid(Squidoo), gets the grand daddy of money. So for them to keep half, and give you half is nothing to them. Plus, they never talk about sharing those 1000 page view earnings with us do they?

Imagine you have 1 million members each of them get you 1 dollar a month from their lense you now have 1 million dollars for that month....! You have to give half of that money to your members, but they all get a 50% pool from that money. Each member.... gets... 50 cents! And your portion is 500,000 dollars! Who is making the real money? They are!

I know you have to link to your Squidoo pages and basically go into forums all over with the link to it in your signature, but I hate spamming, and I never got into anything for the money. If I don't enjoy what I am doing, I don't do it, even if I can make big money on it. I think scamming people is not cool.

I still think you can make real money on their site, but that would only be driving traffic to your site, so if you have a lens that draws people to come to your website, clickbank affiliates, or other sites, at least you have a high page ranking website linking to you and your affiliates. If your lense starts getting popular, and you can pool from every money hungry lense master, more power to you. At least you have a link to your site that will raise your page rank, plus it can make you a few cents here and there for having it on their site.

They real money maker will be your affiliates. You can not place Google ads of your own on Squidoo, but you can link to your partner affiliates, and they give you a commission from those products, way better than Squidoo will ever pay. If you join this site and want to advertise non game related material, you may do so in Advertising Heaven. If you want to use your Squidoo or Clickbank affiliates for gaming, you may link to them and earn some money on my site, as long as its gaming related. Abuse will get you banned...

I have played all the franchise nintendo games, on all systems. I stopped at game cube. When I found out that they were making more quirky nun chuck type games, I really decided not to get a Wii.

Mario Party was one of these franchises that sold. So Nintendo decided to keep making more, even if they were not great. I went over to my friends house, and played this game for a bit, but then quickly grew bored, as I knew they used stuff like "pick the nose" as a nunchuck mini game. I thought that was lame. You hear nothing, but bad reviews for all these silly nunchuck games on the Wii...

Assassins Creed locks up on PS3!

Some times I play Assassins Creed. The game just locks up and I have to restart my PS3.

I don't know why it does this some times, but the game is a bit unstable at times I guess. I am glad they have an auto save feature in this game. You guys ever had Assassins Creed lock up on your Xbox 360s?

Nothing serious... I created a character to resemble Sephiroth on Aion. My first attempt was to make a mage.

I made the hair all braided up for some reason, and someone stopped and said "EWW!! that does not look like Sephiroth! Yuk!". So I felt a bit upset, and changed my character to look a lot more like sephiroth.

My next attempt had some noobs saying a few words about my choice of character. Those hardcore FF7 fans are really particular. The first person to see my new sephiroth incarnation told me "Isn't sephiroth more of a sword master class and not a mage?" I thought awe man... Do I have to re do this again, so I didn't, I just kept the same design and leveled my char.

When I was going to go to the next area, someone actually took time from levleling up, to chase me down and tell me "Hey! you look gay!" I thought, stupid noob, we'll see if you even play the game long enough to advance to Daeva.

The whole reason I made a magic using sephiroth look a like, was to look like the end game FF7 Sephiroth, with the wing, and awesome magic spells. The wings for the light Daevas are white, just the same as sephiroth, so I would imagine I will get some heat from making him on the supposed good side as well. Whatever, I like this game. I will level up, and stick with the sephiroth model I created, and it looks cool.

Half-Life 2 Role Playing?

I played HL2DM once and saw this one independant server hosting some kind of role playing for HL2... Very odd. This was supposed to be a shooting game. So I joined it to see whats going on.

This guy designed this level for FISHING!!! I thought, this is retarted, so I messed with the playsers a bit and the owner of this server was flying around like he was GOD. He made his level so he could be like a GOD in it and blew up anyone who would not participate the right way.

This guy was a real jerk... I saw a fish someone got, and it was some odd creature the guy designed, and I could actually grab it with my grapple gun, so when the admin saw me, he instantly blew me up and told me to play right with the other players. But to make a FPS game into an RPG game is lame, especially if its meant for that purpose.

When I resurected, I felt like really ruining his server cuz its dumb!... He was also talking to the users like he was GOD, and everyone was scared of him, calling him SIR and stuff. One person actually called him GOD. I had to wreck his stuff. Everyone fished up the girl from HL2 and I was like, ok that's stupid, so I ran over and grappled her, and I was about to grapple push her into the water, but the GOD blew me up again, and then banned me from his server. The first time I did it was by mistake, then he blew me up, then I got mad and did it again, and got banned.

What was sad.

Playing games on a portable hard drive

I was running out of space on the hard drive on my PC, and most of the games these days take Gigs to install. I only had about 24 gigs left, and I wanted to have enough space to record Fraps videos on, so I either had to get another hard drive, or use something I had sitting around, for game installs. I used a Western Digital My Book USB hard drive. I usually used that just to back up my PC.

I decided I was going to start playing Unreal Tournament 3 again. I thought "this portable USB My Book wasn't going to play games like on the internal hard drive..." Well, it did! I installed Unreal Tournament 3 onto my Western Digital My Book, and it played just fine, with absolutely no lag whatsoever! At the time of this forum post, I just got done with the first chapter of the campaign, and it did not stutter once during game play.

I found a new way to keep my hard drive free. This may not be true with Flash drives though. So I will be installing the rest of my games to my external hard drive for play. One more thing, before I did Unreal Tournament 3, I installed Guild Wars on that as well, and the game plays online just fine, with no lag.

My first impression of this game was that it was going to be just some guy with electric powers, and he was going to be running around town zaping everything, and have a few story elements like GTA. Wrong! This game has been packed with action from the start. The good or evil choices gets you thinking, "will I be good, or bad?". The powers you get depend on these choices. Since you move you way up the ranks of either good or evil. You can not be both, since there is no 0, only +1 good or -1 evil.

I like the whole concept of flying around in this game. At level 10 you can fly and start killing a gang of NPCs.

At higher levels, you can start killing the other factions and begin your PVP experience. This game is really fun and I am playing it right now.

Enhancing items allows you to customize your armor and weapons in order to fulfill your role within the world of Atreia. There are several ways you can enhance weapons and armor. The first is through Socketing Manastones; second with Enchantment Stones, and third with Godstones. Each type of enhancement affects the item it is placed on differently. Manastones add a particular attribute to an item, such as Hit Points, Crit chance, and more. Enchantment Stones increase specific attributes of an item depending on what type of item it is. Godstones add abilities to weapons that have a chance to affect the target with each attack.

Stigma Stones are imbued with the souls of past Daevas. The power of these souls allows one to equip the stone and receive an ability they would not normally be able to use due to their class or level.

Some stones give the bearer a passive skill such as the ability to equip a weapon not normally available to their class, while other stones can allow the use of offensive or defensive abilities.

Playstation Home changes a little

I didn't log into Playstation Home for a long time, because all the micro transactions, to the lousy content really dried out my ass.

I logged back onto Home about 6 months later and noticed they added a lobby to their theatre, so this makes it more interesting, since you can pick the shows you wanna watch and browse around the lobby. Everything else is pretty much the same. In-game games are pretty neat to see. But I think this program is still in Beta, so its gonna be cheezy for quite some time apparently...

My keyboard made my computer lock up

I bought a Saitek Eclipse 2 (II). The keyboard went bad, and actually made my computer stop turning on. I noticed this because I bought the keyboard to be used in dark circumstances. So it had a blue light that lights up the board so I can see the keys. Well, it didn't want to light up when my computer was freezing, so I unplugged it, and my system started back up again. Really odd, so I ended up getting a Logitech, that has no illumination on keyboard. Sucks but even though I am squinting my eyes to find dark keys, at least my computer isn't locking up...

PS3 YLOD Fix

When I decided to change my hard drive and discovered it was the Yellow Light of Death for PS3, I did some research on how to fix this problem and it was the same as the Xbox 360 tutorial I put up on Youtube some time ago. This tutorial I put up on Youtube was not me, but I used it with the website description and fixed the RROD for the Xbox 360 for my friend.

I will be making a tutorial for how to fix your YLOD on your PS3, so you don't have to send it into the customer service box and wait a month to get your system back.

I noticed that this is an issue with the Xbox 360 and PS3, because they both use Thermal grease on their CPU and GPU for heat control. Any kind of material that can be used up, will do so, and eventually evaporate or disolve, leaving your system to overheat and crack on the soldering.

PS3 hard drive replace

I am going to put a tutorial on Youtube about how to replace your hard drive on your PS3 for a bigger one. I decided to do this to my PS3 because it stopped working yesterday and I thought it would be cool for me to record me replacing the hard drive.

I will post this tutorial in the playstation forums for you guys, just in case you decide to get a PS3 and do some internal tinkering.

Sad to say, that during my tutorial recording, I descovered, my PS3 stopped working because of the YLOD problem. (Yellow Light of Death) Similar to the Xbox 360 Red Ring o Death (RROD). This is an overheating issues between the GPU and GPU of your system.

I successfully installed my hard drive and will link to it here when I am done uploading it to Youtube.

It took me hours just to re-code a few parts of the site, like the original gameweblinks home page and the other project "The Portal". I finally have time to re do some things and re coding The Erebus Onyx as well. I should be done re coding this project by November. Hope you guys like what I have done so far. Its alot of work! So, anyways, at least I am trying to stay on top of all this website stuff.

I am finally getting a little recognition on youtube, but that also means some jerks wanna flag my stuff as being copyright and crap like that. Its ok, because I just copy and paste the copyright disclaimer info, and the flags go away. Whatever, I enjoy putting game plays and tutorials in Youtube... Its fun!

I am still having issues with "The Portal" project, because the original programmer abandoned it, so now I am re writing all the codes in it, just so you guys can post in the forums the right way, upload game saves, tweaks, and homw brew, and a few other things I need to re-code. The original programmer will shat his pants, when he sees what I did to it, lol!

Game Web Links main aka "gameweblinks.com/index.php" has been a nice script to work with. It took some time, but after starting out with that code, I have advanced alot. I am glad I was able to figure out how that programmer customized that code, and now its my own.

I know its not the shiznit, but its not easy to generate content by myself and other cool things you guys might like. When I get enough funding on this site from our sponsors, I will appoint some moderators and get them paid. I have announced many times that I am working on a new version of this site, so if you are not happy with the original plan, I have something new in the works for The Erebus Onyx.

LED Lights

I love LED lights for home and my car. I installed them in my car not too long ago and they look like red dots in the brake lights, and ditto for the turn signals. The best part about LEDs is they are street legal, and I can prove it because a friend of mine was being hounded by a police, then the cop came over and tail gaited me, and did not pull me over even though my lights were dots.

The Down side of LEDs is in the home. If you have electronics running and you install a flood LED in your outside motion sensor light or other LED, the low energy frequency makes your technology buzz. Kinda odd, but after I put me regular lights back into my motion sensor lights, everything stopped the electrical buzz. I noticed this when my dog would trigger the lights on and my stuff and computer would let off a low buzzing sound.

Two Worlds

I just started playing this game again. I like the fact that you can play the game as an RPG online and off. The only thing I don't like about this game is the horse mechanics. Your horseback abilities are horrible and the horse is hard to steer.

One of the main things I like about Two Worlds is that you can stack your armor and weapons for stronger effects of attack and defense. I also like the ability to make potions in your inventory while you play. All in all, it is a fun immersive open environment like Oblivion type game to play.

1. BGs- WSG is a joke, its nice for 10v10 but the power-ups and the whole concept of the instance sucked ass. The quick respawn time, all of it not to mention bugs can turn fun into a severe ass drying.

2. Alterac- Again another FAIL as it like the raids is EXTREMELY linear in its design of capture graveyard to cap tower to cap graveyard, and you are limited in the path that you can take to win the instance.

3. Mobs- At least the "godly" ones, need to go. It was a nice idea, but when they get stuck constantly and you have to train them to your general to kill them they are more of a "get out of my way" kind of thing.

At the top of our site, there is a link to play virtual nintendo games in your web browser. I found this program from a really smart kid, named Jamie Sanders. I noticed that a lot of nintendo games are becoming copyleft, or abandonware. So creating something old school for you guys to play seems like a good idea.In this version of vnes, you can SAVE YOUR GAMES for later play. Amazing, yes? Just copy your vnes game code after the prompt to save your game, and do a CTRL + C and then a CTRL + V into these forums, so you have your save codes on this site for later play. Some games use codes to continue like Metroid. Just copy that code (with pen and paper) and jot that down into these forums.

Let me know if there are any vnes games you think I am missing. Please let me know, because I want to contact the copywrite holder of the game and find out if I can put them into the collection. To make things even more safe between me and copywrite holders, we link to off site files that load our vnes games, so that means we do not host the games. We simply mirror our links out to the holders of the roms.

Starting 1/1/10 we added the ability for members to be able to add attatchments in forums. This is usefull since you can now copy your vnes code and put that into a text file, and attatch that to your forum posts. Weee!

World of Warcraft (Horde vs. Alliance)

I have been searching websites about which is better... Horde or alliance? I found that the alliance attracts a younger type of audience and people that are new to MMO games. My daughter was part of the alliance because she wanted to be "Good". I don't think there is good or bad in world of warcraft.

I noticed that when I switch to another server and become Horde, they seem older, more mature and more group oriented. Often in BG, when I was alliance, they all split up and faught 2 horde at one time, and died horribly. Or, the horde would focus on one alliance and kill us one by one, picking us off. This seems smarter, since I saw this and told my fellow alliance mates to follow and team up. When the kids would actually listen, we would win.

The younger people seem to focus on the supposed "good" side. While the more mature players focus on the mean looking, kick your butt side. Both sides are equally powered up, so the only thing that makes sense is that the other team casts alot of power buffs on their mates, and that makes them stronger. Our alliance team, just goes off their own marry way and spreads out, making things suck. Horde is better because they stick together, and help each other out.

Also, on most servers, Alliance out numbers Horde by 3 to 1 and some times more. BG fights for alliance is usually taking about an hour to get online, while horde just instantly go in. Giving them a battle advantage and never stopping their PVP exp. Also, Horde has more opportunities to fight alliance since alliance numbers are so vast. So the horde will always have more PVP points since they have alot of victims to chose from.

One time I was playing, and I came across some of my faction and the other faction. I was killing the opposing faction, when one of my team mates killed me. I was like, oh well, it happens. Then I tried to kill another of the opposing team, and someone knifed me. That was deliberate, right? Then I asked them "Whats going on?" They told me " Get out of here faggot!" I told them "What?!" They said "You heard me bitch!" So, then I got into a huge fight with them trying to kill my own faction, by sneaking up on them, then they went to my spawn point and kept killing me over and over. That didn't make any sense, and I reported those jerks afterwards and nothing got resolved.

That made me stop playing that game.

GameCam vs. Fraps

I personally have used GameCam and Fraps, and I have to say that Fraps is the best by far. Here are the reasons why:

1) Fraps records sound, Gamecam does not - Now that may or may not be a big deal however, the free version of Gamecam does not allow you to record sound. The program itself will cost $24.95 USD (now $39.95) to register the program. Fraps on the other hand allows you to obviously record sound with the free version.

2) Fraps can go up to 60 fps(v2.5) Gamecam does not - The free version of Gamecam only allows you to record up to 30 fps. Now mind you they may be updating it to keep up with Fraps, however before v2.5 came out this wasn't an issue with either program.

3) Fraps has one button, Gamecam has multiple buttons - Fraps allows you to record video game footage by hitting one button on your keyboard with ease. With Gamecam there are multiple buttons to record, pause, and stop recording. Also if you have a game that requires a lot of keyboard shortcuts the default setting for Gamecam's keymap will more than likely bypass those shortcuts. Now to me this isn't a big issue, because Fraps and Gamecam are customizable so you can set the recording keys to whichever you like, however there are more buttons to play with in Gamecam. Now to go in Gamecam's favour, you can set multiple keymaps to each of your games so as not to interfere with the controls. For instance, you can set up Gamecam to launch say Counter Strike and have its own custom keymap, and you can launch UT in Gamecam with a totally different custom keymap.

4) Fraps is easy, Gamecam is not - Not to say Gamecam is not easy to learn, I was able to figure it out within five minutes, but I'm not a noob when trying to figure out any program. I can literally figure out any program within a short period of time. However, if you like ease of use and not a lot of settings than Fraps is the way to go. Now here is where I like Gamecam however, Gamecam has a lot of features that Fraps does not, so that adds to the complexity of the program. The features include Video Quality, Video brightness, Image capture format and Image capture quality, as well as other features that are disabled with the free version. So if you like more features but a more complex program than go with Gamecam.

5) Recording Fraps vs. Gamecam - With Fraps, when you record your game footage there is nothing in your way, you can still see the full screen(although at a slower pace with earlier versions of Fraps). However, with Gamecam there are two things that launch on your screen overlaying the gameplay. First there is a vertical semi-transparant control panel at the top left corner of the screen, with a small window on the bottom right of the screen. The control panel contains buttons like Record, Pause, Stop, etc. With the window in the bottom corner it shows a smaller scale real time video of what your recording footage would look like. Now this can be a bit bothersome. I didn't like it because if you have to click buttons on a menu and the buttons are on the bottom right corner of your screen than you can't see the buttons. The small window is on top of those buttons. The only way to click those buttons is by looking at the smaller screen and finding your mouse arrow and moving it to the buttons in that bottom corner, just to click on them. I find it at times aggrivating. So don't expect to be recording any RTS games with Gamecam if your RTS control panel covers the bottom portion of your screen.

Sorry, I had to rant and rave about these two programs(especially ranting about Gamecam ). However, both programs are good in its own right. So to conclude Fraps is easy to use and less hassle, but not as many features as Gamecam. Gamecam is not that easy to use and a little bit of a hassle, but it gives you close to full control of the quality of your pictures and videos. So take your pick. Whichever you think is best is up to you. I would suggest try them both out to see if you like one or the other. You never know until you try. However with Fraps now being able to record at 60fps? I think as of right now Fraps is the one to pick handsdown just because of that feature. At least for free anyway.

God of War: Chains of Olympus (spoiler inside)

I finally beat this game a few days ago. This game was short, thats why it was used in the game store, so I thought I would just save my money and buy the used one. Glad I did. The ending was quick. I just think it was funny that the ruler of Hades' wife had to fight me in the end, and put on her armor. I expected more, but at least they added some more story to the GOW franchize. It is a good game with the new godly fist that you can smash enemies. I finally feel evenly matched against huge apponents. The game was too easy though, since you are going to face the usual enemies... Medusa, archers, blade masters, Minitaurs, and more. The ending with the titan having to hold up the earth was interesting, but when the gods removed the sun shield and the godly fist from Kratos in the end, I was like.. "ok"... but thats how they led up to GOW the first eddition. Nice game.

Little Big Planet (annoying levels)

What levels annoy you? Let me kick this off with the level with the big spinning wheel. The one wheel before end-game that turns slowly, then you have to make it to each outer section without being electrocuted. I remember, many times I tried to finish that level, I just jumped into the next section of that wheel and held on to the sack platform until it was time to drop to the next section. At the end of this wheel, the last section, you have to jump on all the metal platforms before those electric bars kill you. I cheated a bit because I waited a bit for the area to pass then I jumped down to the bottom to avoid the insane metal platform jumping. The reason I did this to avoid the insane jumping was because when you get electrocuted, you start back at your checkpoint, unlike fire, you get one chance not to touch this. This drove me nuts on this level, because your sack person does not jump well and is not very responsive to your jumping.

Another level that really sucked was the one with all the bombs. You get a jetpack and then you have to release the bombs in each area to proceed. When I started, I grabbed a bomb and flew up and blew up. I thought "Crap!" So I had to be more careful. One area requires that you fly through 2 spikes with a bomb and throw it to blow it up on a blocked path but the spikes keep going up and down and trying to make you blow up on them, and that is the case if you go slow. You need to press X while holding onto the bomb and while you are in jet pack to blast through the first spike, then wait. Your bomb will trail behind you and stay fairly still when you go fast then stop. If you go slow, your bomb will dangle like a pair of balls and get hit when it swings into the other spike. And you have to do this more than one time. Really sucks.

Little Big Planet (spoiler inside)

I finally passed this game. Some of the levels almost made me want to give up, but you'll never know if you never go. I passed the game about 2 weeks ago from this forum post. The end-game deal, is that no other levels show up after you beat the last level. The last level is the collector, so if you were wondering what this last section looks like... It looks like a shadow with glowing eyes in the story mode. I tried to look it up online, but found no results.

All in all, the game was pretty fun, so now I just need to go back, and collect the missing items I missed after the end-game. Next, I will be making levels. I know thats kinda silly to have a game that you can make levels with and not begin doing so, but I had to defeat this game so I could include everything possible into my levels.

If you ever decide to see If I made any levels for this game, do a LBP search for NSOS (thats my Playstation ID)

Mercedes Benz Jerks

This Blonde jerk chick was really bad in her Mercedes. I was taking my wife to work today and I see this black car rushing up from behind me, and trying to cut over from behind me before I could get off, but I still changed lanes and she got so close to my car I thought she was going to eat my bumper, then she tailgates me down the off-ramp, changes lanes to go around me, speeds up and cuts me off, then proceeds to tailgate the car in front of her, and swirving lane to lane. She ended up sitting at the stop light like everyone else, and did not accomplish anything accept proving my point, nice one.

Let me start by saying I live in California and traffic is a bummer, but you can still get places if you know your streets.

Has someone ever cut you off? Has someone tailgated you down the street? Has someone been a total jerk the way they drive? If you answered yes, that's normal. But have you noticed the kind of cars cutting you off, or trying to drive you off the road? I have been driving for 11 years now, and I have studied the driving habits all the time I have been driving. I noticed something about the kind of cars and trucks driving around, and what I noticed was the jerks(or most of them) drive square shaped cars/trucks or drive expensive(I'm richer than you!) cars.

The list goes on, but there are always a few a-hole ford, dodge, toyota, honda, and ect. drivers out there, but in my opinion, they are few. I will continue with another segment after this, so this forum doesn't fill up too much. I know this will generate alot of aggro from some of the car/truck types listed above, so its cool. You have a right to your opinion.
